Machining capabilities and equipment

Every machine on our floor, with its axes, travel, typical tolerance and the work it does best. Check whether your part fits before you send the drawing, or send it anyway and we will tell you.

No brand names, because the brand matters less than the envelope and the tolerance it holds day after day. All figures are sample figures for this demo.

What “unless noted” means here

If your drawing has no general tolerance block, we machine to the standard grade, which is in line with ISO 2768-m. Put tighter numbers only on the features that need them: bearing seats, dowel holes, sealing faces. Every tight tolerance adds machining and inspection time, and it shows up in the price.

Inch drawings are welcome. We program in the units of your drawing and report in the same units, so nothing is lost in conversion.

2.3InspectionFAI

Inspection and paperwork

Measuring is part of the job, not an extra. What you receive depends on what you ask for at the quote stage.

Equipment

  • Bridge-type CMM, 700 × 1,000 × 600 mm (27.6 × 39.4 × 23.6 in) measuring volume
  • Height gauge on a granite surface plate
  • Surface roughness tester for Ra and Rz
  • Bore gauges, micrometers and pin gauges
  • Thread plug and ring gauges, metric and UNC/UNF

Documents

  • First article inspection report on every new part number
  • Dimensional report for each batch, on request
  • Material certificates (mill test reports) with heat numbers
  • Certificate of conformance with the packing slip
  • Finishing certificates from our anodizing and plating partners
ISO 9001 certificate no. shown here

2.4Secondary operationsIn-house + partners

Finishing and secondary operations

We arrange outside finishing with local partners and inspect the parts again when they come back, so you get finished parts from one supplier and one purchase order.

Heat treatmentPartnerThrough-hardening, case hardening and stress relief, with certificates

Part sizes: milled parts up to 1,000 × 500 × 450 mm (39 × 19.7 × 17.7 in); turned parts up to Ø 350 mm (13.8 in). Quantities from a single prototype to repeat runs of a few thousand. Sample figures.

Not sure your part fits a machine?

Send the drawing anyway. If we cannot make it well, we say so and point you to a shop that can.
