Machined parts for four Ontario industries

Automotive tooling, farm equipment, food machinery and energy. Different parts and different paperwork, but the same need: a part that fits the first time and arrives when promised. We describe the work in general terms here and never name the companies we make parts for.

DWG SP-4471 · Fixture locator block
Drawing of a weld fixture locator block with a hardened rest pad, a locating pin and two counterbored mounting screws. 96.00 ±0.05 48.00 PAD 58–62 HRC Ø 12 g6 PIN

6.1AutomotiveTooling

Automotive tooling and fixture parts

Ontario's assembly and parts plants run on fixtures, gauges and robot tooling, and those wear out or change with every model year. We machine the details that tooling builders and plant maintenance teams need, often in small quantities and often in a hurry: locators, rest pads, pins, clamp arms, sensor brackets and gauge blocks.

When a line is down, call first. We can quote a single part from a sketch over the phone and fit it ahead of scheduled work.

Typical parts
  • Locating pins and rest pads
  • Clamp arms and risers
  • End-of-arm tooling plates
  • Check gauge details
Materials
  • 4140 pre-hardened
  • A2 tool steel
  • 6061 and 7075 aluminum
Buyers ask for
  • Hardened details with certificates
  • Same-week turnaround
  • Inspection reports
DWG SP-5102 · Drive sprocket, 20 teeth
Drawing of a 20-tooth drive sprocket with a keyed bore, the kind of replacement part made for older farm equipment. BORE Ø 40 H7, KEY 12 20 T MATERIAL 1045, TEETH INDUCTION HARDENED

6.2AgricultureRepair

Agricultural equipment parts

Southern Ontario farms keep machinery running for decades, long after the original parts stop being made. Farmers, dealers and equipment builders bring us shafts, sprockets, bushings, hitch pins and hydraulic fittings, sometimes with a drawing and often as a worn or broken original.

We measure the old part, allow for the wear, and send a simple drawing for approval before cutting. Planting and harvest do not wait, so breakdown parts are scheduled ahead of planned work in season.

Typical parts
  • Shafts and stub axles
  • Sprockets and hubs
  • Bushings and wear sleeves
  • Hydraulic fittings
Materials
  • 1045 and 4140 steel
  • C932 bronze
  • UHMW
Buyers ask for
  • Parts made from a sample
  • A drawing for next time
  • Fast seasonal turnaround
DWG SP-6230 · Star wheel, 8 pockets
Drawing of an eight-pocket star wheel used to move containers on a filling or packaging line, machined from food-grade plastic. 8× R24 POCKET Ra 0.8 MATERIAL UHMW, FOOD GRADE

6.3Food equipmentWashdown

Food processing and packaging machinery

Bakeries, meat and dairy plants and the companies that build their lines need parts that survive daily washdown and leave nowhere for food to collect. We machine change parts, star wheels, guides, nozzles, scraper blades and brackets in 304 and 316 stainless steel and in food-grade plastics.

Drawings for food equipment benefit from generous inside radii, no blind threaded holes in the product zone and smooth finishes. We point these out at the drawing review and passivate stainless parts through our partner when you need it.

Typical parts
  • Star wheels and change parts
  • Guide rails and wear strips
  • Filler nozzles
  • Mixer and pump parts
Materials
  • 304 and 316 stainless
  • Acetal and UHMW
  • PEEK for hot zones
Buyers ask for
  • Cleanable surface finishes
  • Material certificates
  • Passivation records
DWG SP-7015 · Blind flange, 8 bolts
Drawing of a round flange with eight bolt holes on a bolt circle, a raised face and a central bore. 8× Ø 22 EQ SP RAISED FACE Ra 3.2 MATERIAL 316L · HEAT NO. MARKED ON PART

6.4EnergyTraceable

Energy sector components

Power generation, utilities and oil and gas suppliers buy machined parts with more paperwork than most: certified material, heat numbers carried onto the part, dimensional reports and sometimes witness points during production. We machine flanges, valve parts, pump shafts, instrument fittings and test fixtures with that traceability built into the traveller from the first operation.

Some energy buyers need suppliers registered under a specific quality program. Where a real shop holds one, its certificate appears here.

Quality program certificate shown here
Typical parts
  • Flanges and adapters
  • Valve stems and seats
  • Pump shafts and sleeves
  • Test fixtures
Materials
  • 316L and 17-4 PH stainless
  • 4140 steel
  • PEEK seals
Buyers ask for
  • Mill test reports
